If I had a penny for every time a “respected” content coach told me that if I wanted to grow I just needed to “post 4x a day”, I’d be fucking rich.

Can I give you some advice on launching a free masterclass or workshop that took me 5 launches to understand? ⤵️

✅ Don’t launch, talk about it once and assume people will buy. You need to talk about it every single day, sell it every single day (or as much as possible). whether that’s on your feed, emails, stories etc. you’re not the sole focus of people’s lives.

✅ Just because it’s free, doesn’t mean it’ll sell. Just because you want to talk about something, doesn’t mean your audience wants to hear it. Your masterclass should be a no-brainer for your audience - that’s what makes it sell.

✅ Send reminders via email to those who are attending; a week before, 2 days before, and 30-60 mins before. People forget.

✅ If people don’t turn up live - it’s ok. It might knock your ego but 5 people are still 5 people, 16 people are still 16.

✅ Give yourself enough time to launch. I gave myself 14 days because my audience is warm and I knew they were ready for something juicy. If it’s free, 2-3 weeks is a good start. If it’s paid - 4-8 weeks depending on how cold your audience is.

✅ Have fucking fun. It might be scary, but bring the fucking energy ok? Remember why you’re doing this - to share, to help people, to make impact.

I’m a type A high achiever and a maaasssiveee control freak so I spent most of my life trying to control everything ⤵️

I used to care wayyy too much about what people think.
If I had a problem I normally have 15,000 versions of how it would pan out.
I’m a planner, and if the plan changes - then I’m not going.
If I host a party, I’ll probs cry the next day because I’m sure people weren’t having the right amount of fun.

So when it came to starting my business, I’m sure you can guess I approached it with the same eeeaasssyyy breezy attitude I’d approached everything else in my life.

I won’t lie, I’ve been in a bit of a creativity slump this week (yeeep even content coaches who do this for a living get content slumps too!)

I knew I needed to create content for my business but what that ACTUALLY looked like was just me sitting at my laptop for the last two days with a single thought in my head:

“What the fuck do I talk about”

And when that happens, panic sets in.

If I don’t feel creative, I can’t create good content.
If I can’t create good content, I can’t get more money.
If I can’t get more money, my business will fail aND OH MY GOD ILL HAVE TO GO BSCK TO CORPORATE OFJDJDUEBDJDJE— stop.

Just hold up.

Instead of spiralling and scrolling for 3 hours on Instagram desperately trying to find inspiration for my next post, do you know what I did? (And this is something that has gotten me through bigger creative slumps back in the day!)

I sat back.
Put my phone up.
Hit record.
And started talking about something. Anything.

It took 4-5 tries of me talking absolute shit but in the end? I created 2 reels off the cuff and planned a weeks worth of content that I’m super happy with and will probably bring in sales.

Because the thing is, creativity is like a car that won’t start.

Sometimes if you give it a push down the road or give it a jump start, it’ll work again.

So next time you’re sat at your laptop spiralling because you’ve got the creativity of a mouldy carrot, try just writing SOMETHING.

Doesn’t need to be perfect, but you’d be surprised how much good stuff comes out.

I was THAT person who spent hours creating content.

Before I went to Aus for 3 weeks in Feb, I spent 2 whole days batch-creating 6 weeks of content (all speaking-to-camera videos).

Then I spent £100 booking a studio space, spent 4 HOURS filming… only to crawl into my editing cave and hack away at every. single. video. until 11pm that night.

I hated the process. I was exhausted. And honestly? The content didn’t even feel like me (I now realise I was creating like this because it’s how I THOUGHT I should be showing up)

And it showed.

Not one post got over 15 likes.
And none of them brought in sales.

So I told my coach that “I hate my content” 😂 and we pivoted.

I stripped it right back and started leaning on low-effort content that literally took me 5 minutes to make…focusing on what I was SAYING rather than how polished it looked.

For 3 months I only posted B-roll content, literally 10-second clips of me walking the dog, at the gym, drinking coffee, typing on my laptop, and easy carousel posts (not the ones made on Canva)

Here’s what happened ⤵️

✅ I fell back in love with creating content
✅ I got better at communicating my value and what I do to my audience
✅ I 4 x my engagement and reach

✅ and I realised I was COMPLETELY overcomplicating my content 😂

Now, I’ve re-introduced speaking-to-camera videos but instead of over-edited ones, I film them like I’m FaceTiming a friend which feel soooo much more me.

And guess what? Those videos went viral. I’ve gained 400 new followers. And off the back of all this, I’ve built a 5-figure business.

You don’t need to spend hours creating content. You just need to nail WHAT you’re saying and HOW you’re saying it.

So a selling content idea could be:

✅ Make your audience feel seen
✅ Tell them why they should care/buy from you

“I don’t know what to post or say.”

You tell yourself it’s confusion.

But it’s not.

You do have things to say.

Ideas. Opinions. Stories. Truths. Experience. Knowledge.

What’s really happening underneath is this:

→ You’re scared of being rejected if you share the thing you actually want to say.

→ You’re worried about offending someone, or what people will think.

→ You’re overthinking what to talk about because you feel like no one cares or wants to hear it.

→ You’re even scared of what happens if you say it and you DO get seen — and suddenly eeeeeeveryone’s watching.

So “I don’t know what to post” becomes safer than admitting “I don’t feel safe saying it.”
